In this practice, a single gemstone is usually assigned to a single month. But now, it is a common practice where you see a single month having more than one birthstones and these gemstones could only be differentiated by their color.

For the month of June which is our concerned month now, there are two birthstones for it-Alexandrite and pearls. These gemstones are extremely uncommon because of their features. For instance, alenxandrite can change its color when a light is directed towards it. Pearl on the other hand was believed to be medicinal in some part of the world then and there’s a myth that it was formed by the joyous tears of Aphrodite, a Greek goddess. Moonstone is usually found in India and the it there’s conviction that it brings about good fortune.
